Pediatric Care
Your child’s care is our top priority. We provide a comprehensive
range of pediatric services designed to meet the unique needs of our community.
Here’s how we’re here to support your family:
Pediatric Services at Washington Hospital Healthcare System:
-
Birthing Center, Nursery, and Emergency Department: These facilities are dedicated to delivering exceptional care for newborns
and children.
-
Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU): Our 10-bed NICU, staffed by UCSF Health neonatologists, offers specialized,
high-quality care for newborns and premature babies.
-
24/7 Pediatric Hospitalist Coverage: An onsite
pediatric hospitalist is always available to provide emergency consults, support newborn care,
and assist with urgent deliveries.
-
Newborn Admissions to NICU: Newborns under 30 days old with specific diagnoses requiring admission
will be cared for in our Level II NICU.
-
Pediatric Emergency Care: Children brought to our Emergency Department will be evaluated and treated
on-site. If a hospital admission is necessary, our team facilitates a
seamless transfer to a specialty pediatric hospital, following jointly
developed protocols.
-
Pediatric Emergency Training: Our Emergency Department staff and physicians regularly receive training
to effectively respond to pediatric trauma and emergencies, providing
the highest level of care for our patients.
Your Child’s Care is in Expert Hands
If your child needs emergency attention, our experienced team will assess
and treat them in the Emergency Department. In cases requiring inpatient
care, we coordinate transfers to trusted pediatric specialty hospitals.
We’re here for your family—providing expert, compassionate
care for your children when they need it most.
