37th Annual Golf and Bocce Tournament Supports Washington Hospital

On Thursday, May 2, friends and supporters of Washington Hospital Healthcare System will continue a longtime tradition that has raised more than $2 million dollars in support of health care services for the residents of Washington Township Health Care District.

Golfers will tee off, and bocce enthusiasts will roll the pallino, at Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation’s 37th Annual Golf and Bocce Tournament at The Club at Castlewood, a beautiful private course in the hills of Pleasanton.

Since 1985, golfers of all abilities have enjoyed a day on this members-only golf course offering spectacular views. Foundation President, Sophia Ahmad, notes, “For 36 years, community members have played in the tournament, enjoying a great day of golf among colleagues and friends of the Hospital. Recently, bocce was added so everyone has an opportunity to help the Foundation raise funds for health care programs and services at Washington Hospital.” Proceeds will help meet the rising patient demand for critical and lifesaving surgical procedures by funding state-of-the-art surgical equipment and technology for Washington Hospital’s operating rooms and future trauma center.

Nongolfers who want to support Washington Hospital are invited to join the event and enjoy Castlewood’s beautiful bocce courts for an afternoon of fun. Individual players, or groups, can sip cocktails on the court and participate in the post-tournament reception.

The tournament will be held on the prestigious Hill Course at The Club at Castlewood for a limited number of golfers. Each entry includes: green fees; golf cart; barbeque lunch; course beverages and games; and post-tournament cocktail reception. Golfers are registered on a first-paid basis and the course is limited to 120 total golfers.
