On Thursday, May 2nd, Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation welcomed golfers and bocce players, to the 37th Annual Golf and Bocce Tournament at The Club at Castlewood in Pleasanton. The tournament brought together friends and community members to help fund state-of-the-art surgical equipment and technology for Washington Hospital’s Operating Rooms and future trauma center.
For thirty-six years, the golf tournament has raised money for Washington Hospital. The Foundation is excited to announce it was another successful year, with proceeds totaling over $124K!
The day featured a full day including an 18-hole golf tournament, bocce ball competition, putting contest, barbeque lunch, gaming holes, silent and live auction, cocktail reception, award ceremony and much more! The tournament was held on the prestigious Hill Course with 120 golfers enjoying a spectacular day, while six bocce teams, battled it out on the courts for the championship.
The tournament is held in memory of Gene and Laura Pessagno. Gene was a founding member of the Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation and Laura was a founding member of our Service League, a longtime Foundation trustee, and a vibrant contributor to our Hospital. We are grateful to the entire Pessagno family for their support over the years.

The 37th Annual Top Hat Gala, which took place on Saturday, October 14, was a huge success! Donations totaled more than $1,150,000 making this year's gala the most successful to date! The Foundation extends a sincere thank you to the sponsors and all those who attended Top Hat with proceeds benefiting the UCSF - Washington Cancer Center.
