Hanh (Jenny) Tran, DO, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Washington Women’s Health Specialists. As a doctor of osteopathic medicine, as defined by the American Osteopathic Association, Dr. Tran employs “a whole-person approach to treatment and care.”
Dr. Tran earned her degree of osteopathy at Touro University in Vallejo, California, not far from her hometown of Oakland. After completing her internship and residency programs on the East Coast, Dr. Tran returned to California to practice obstetrics and gynecology. She has been part of the team at Washington Women’s Health Specialists since 2018.
“I became an OB/GYN because I like bringing something new to this world,” said Dr. Tran, who lives in Fremont and is mom to two daughters. “Helping a woman with the joyous journey of motherhood, and helping bring her baby into the world, is the best part of my job.”
In her practice, Dr. Tran is focused on all aspects of OB/GYN care. She also has a special interest in global health and preventive care. “Often, I find that patients may not be aware of the measures they can take to ensure best health now and into the future,” explained Dr. Tran. “I try to clearly communicate how preventive care is important at every stage of life.”
High-quality patient care sometimes takes a bit of time. Dr. Tran said the process is still quite rewarding.
“If a woman has a health issue and I can guide her towards a solution that works, that’s a wonderful thing,” Dr. Tran said. “We may not have an exact answer immediately, but we can create a path that will get us there. The goal for each patient is optimum health, and I am proud to play a role in making that a reality.”
