Bogdan Eftimie, MD
Dr. Eftimie earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University, his internship and residency at Loma Linda University, and his fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. His clinical interests include gastrointestinal, lung, melanoma, and benign hematology. Dr. Eftimie has a strong interest in research and serves as the principal investigator.
Carlton Scharman, MD
Dr. Carlton Scharman is a hematologist-oncologist who joined UCSF-Washington Cancer Center in 2021 and cares for patients with a wide variety of cancers and blood-related conditions. He has a particular interest in caring for patients with lung cancer. Dr. Scharman earned his medical degree from the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Oregon Health & Science University. He completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Tufts Medical Center, where he participated in international collaborative research on Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Matthew Tenold, MD
Dr. Matthew Tenold is a hematologist-oncologist who joined UCSF-Washington Cancer Center in 2021 and cares for patients with a wide variety of cancers and blood-related conditions. He earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College. At the University of California, Davis School of Medicine, he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology, serving as chief fellow. Dr. Tenold’s firsthand experience in being treated for and cured of lymphoma sparked his desire for a career in medicine and his enduring passion for providing care throughout each patient's cancer journey. Outside of work, Tenold loves spending time with his wife, a pediatrician, and two sons.
