Emergency Care at Washington Hospital

Our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day to provide care to those with serious conditions like stroke and heart attack as well as injuries, infections, and other illnesses. Our physicians are board certified and all nurses are specially trained and certified in life-saving emergency care for adults and children. Do not ignore symptoms or delay care for emergent conditions. In a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the Emergency Department.

Location

Washington Hospital’s Emergency Department is located at 2000 Mowry Avenue in Fremont. It is located on the first floor of the Morris Hyman Critical Care Pavilion. The Pavilion is behind the Hospital patient tower on Civic Center Drive, between Mowry Avenue and Bart Way. Free parking is available in the adjacent parking lot.

Poison Control

Contact Poison Control right away if you suspect a poisoning. Comprehensive poison information and a link for immediate help are available online at www.poison.org or by phone at 1.800.222.1222. Both options are free, expert, and confidential. Call 911 right away if the individual collapses, has a seizure, has trouble breathing, or cannot be awakened.

Washington Hospital Health Insurance Information Service

The Washington Hospital Health Insurance Information Service is a free, confidential, and unbiased service to provide community members and local employers with all the information necessary to make informed decisions about health insurance. This includes information on Medicare and Medi-Cal, private, and employer-based plans. To reach this service, call 510.818.7005 anytime from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. You can have your questions answered over the phone or set up an appointment for a personal consultation.
