A five-member board of directors governs the Washington Township Health Care District. The board, which is publicly elected, was first formed in 1948. It is charged with the general oversight of the health care district's overall operations. Each member serves a four-year term. Board meetings are held monthly and are open to the public.

The Washington Township Health Care District Board of Directors have developed a long-range master plan to meet the community’s anticipated demand for the services of Washington Hospital Healthcare System. Today, implementation of this Facility Master Plan continues. This multiyear master plan is guiding the development of our main medical campus to the year 2030 to ensure safe, reliable, quality hospital facilities that will meet the health care needs of our community for the future.
