Where do you go when you need a doctor, but it's not an emergency?
Washington Urgent Care is a convenient and cost-effective alternative to emergency room care.

  • Washington Urgent Care's board certified physicians treat patients of all ages with average wait times of less than 30 minutes.
  • Co-payments are less than emergency room co-payments.
  • Uninsured patients who are District residents and qualify, receive a discount of 55 percent off their charges at the time of service.

Patients are seen on a walk-in basis for minor emergencies, illnesses and other common medical needs, such as:

  • Lacerations, cuts, bruises, sprains, fractures and other injuries
  • Asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory illnesses
  • Abdominal pain and vomiting
  • Fever, headaches and back pain
  • Colds, cough, flu and flu-related symptoms

When you or someone you love is sick or has a minor injury, you don't want to wait to get the medical care you need. Washington Urgent Care is located on the second floor of Washington West at 2500 Mowry Avenue and is open - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, 365 days a year - to give you high quality urgent care whether you have an appointment or not.

Our full range of services is tailored to meet the urgent care needs of you and your family. So, waiting times are shorter and costs are usually lower than for similar services in a hospital emergency room.

Because we're part of the Washington Hospital Healthcare System, we have access to the system's wide array of advanced healthcare services, whenever you need them.

In case of a true emergency, always call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

Help for local employers

Our staff is experienced in providing occupational healthcare services through our Well for Work program:

  • Work injury management
  • Drug and alcohol testing
  • Pre-employment physical exams (by appointment only between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
  • Rehabilitation services

Expert, friendly staff

Our staff includes experienced nurses and physicians who are board certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine. They are dedicated to giving you the best possible medical attention so you'll feel better fast. To serve our diverse population, many are bilingual. Because they are well-versed in occupational healthcare, our staff also provides excellent treatment for people who become sick or injured on the job.

We're conveniently located on the second floor of Washington West, next to Washington Hospital. From the moment you step in the door, you'll feel more at ease in our spacious, patient-friendly surroundings.

Lower cost

Besides our lower costs for care, you'll also find insurance co-pays are typically less than in the emergency room. We accept most insurance plans and will bill them as a courtesy to you.
