Bringing Up Baby
Washington Hospital’s Maternal/Child Education Department has recently moved into its new stand-alone location and its staff members and instructors are here to help make pregnancy and parenthood as smooth as possible.

Preparing for Childbirth
Many expecting parents start out with the prenatal classes to prepare them for the arrival of their new baby. If you are pregnant, nursing or just looking for an informative or fun class to sharpen your skills as a parent or parent-to-be, the Maternal/Child Education Department offers a variety of classes and programs to fit your needs.

We offer several classes for couples in the last trimester of pregnancy that focus on preparing for labor, Childbirth Techniques, the coach’s role and postpartum recovery tips. Other classes that are offered focus on sibling preparation, expecting twins or more and prenatal exercise and yoga.

Breastfeeding Support
Our lactation educators and consultants offers support to breastfeeding and back-to-work moms with low cost private visits, classes and clinics. The new location features lactation support and breastfeeding products, including a breast pump rental station – all in one convenient location.
