Most of what you need to know about Washington Hospital’s health services, programs, classes, resources and support groups is literally just a phone call away. Washington Hospital’s Health Connection line, 1-800-963-7070, is staffed with advisors ready to give you fast and easy answers to your questions about how best to take advantage of the myriad of medical and health programs available through Washington Hospital.

"Most of our calls are for seminar and screening registrations," says Deborah Garcia, RN, MSN, Washington Hospital’s Manager of Health Promotion. "People can also call with various questions, such as directions to our facilities, the specific services provided at Washington Hospital as well as physician referrals."

Pre-registration for Washington Hospital’s Health & Wellness classes is handled through the Health Connection line. Washington Hospital offers free screenings throughout the year for various medical conditions. Registration is required through the Health Connection line.

The Health Connection advisors can also help a caller learn some general information about hospital services available to the community through Washington Hospital. Hospital services include everything from the Birthing Center, Cancer Services and Cardiac Rehabilitation to the Pharmacy, Sports Medicine Program and Speech Therapy. Health Connections advisors can answer questions about hospital departments such as pediatrics, neurosurgery, orthopedics or pathology. Health Connection is the first call to make to learn about the hospital’s Center for Joint Replacement, 24-Hour Emergency Care and Crisis Intervention, Nutrition Counseling, the Sleep Disorders Clinic, the Hospice Program, the Quit Smoking Program and the Diabetes Program. If you are interested in the hospital’s Volunteer Services, Community Education, Social Services, Financial and Insurance Counseling and Community Clinics, you can get your initial questions answered from Health Connection.

If you are looking for a doctor, Health Connection will give you a physician referral. If you need to know about Medical Imaging, Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery or General Medicine and Surgery, a call to Health Connection is the place to start.

Washington Hospital offers support programs for patients, family members and caregivers of people who are dealing with a wide variety of health and medical challenges. Health Connection advisors will tell you when and where you can meet to get emotional support and information about Arthritis, Breast Cancer, Ostomy, Parkinson’s, Cancer, or Stroke and Head Injury. Health Connection will also provide information on the Better Breathing for Life Club for people with chronic lung disease, Grief Support for adults grieving the loss of a loved one, Mended Hearts for people who have had cardiac conditions, and Helping After Neonatal Death (HAND) for parents who have lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
